PRINCIPALS

Common Greens is the partnership launched by long-time market manager Joan Taramasso and Thalassa Skinner, formerly of the St Helena Farmers Market and the Barossa Farmers Market in the Barossa Valley of South Australia.

PRINCIPLES

This union of grower-supportive souls draws on a strong background of farmers markets, community awareness and enjoyment, tourism and a burgeoning interest in the strength of towns and their common areas. Common Greens operates under the belief that fresh and local is imperative, that growers work hard and must be nurtured, and that farmers markets are a key component in the welfare of our communities and regions.

Common Greens creates non-corporate, intimate farmers markets that serve the local community and their local growers with personalized and trustworthy service. The Common Greens farmers markets are always interested in the small grower and food producers forming ongoing, year-round relationships with local restaurants, shops, tourism-based enterprises and other local businesses.

Please read our vision statement and handbook.

Rules & Regs
As non-corporate and intimate as we would like all farmers markets to be, we do need basic rules and regulations. Common sense and courtesy prevail. 2008 rules & regs coming soon!
